Dover Black Button
These black button fixtures were used by Dover Elevator in the 60s and 70s. There are a couple of different styles of these buttons, though they have the same contact block.
The older style of black button. This has a larger halo that lights up along with a green/red arrow depending on the direction
The newer style of black button. This has a smaller halo and only that lights up. There is a version that is a white button with black halo as well.
Older Style Wiring
This video shows the restoration and wiring of this older style of Dover black button. This fixture was in HORRIBLE shape before I did any work on it. I'm super happy with the way the restoration came out.
The wiring of these buttons is also very easy. The lamp sockets hold PSB type bulbs, so I am able to use 6 PSB incandescent bulbs with a 9 volt battery.
