Schindler MT

MT is one of the earliest fixture types used on Schindler elevators in the US and have a distinct look to them. There are three variants of MT, and I have worked on two of them shown below. See the bottom of the page for extra info on MT.

Regular Schindler MT

This is the most common style of Schindler MT. This video shows you an in depth look at two fixtures and how to wire them.

"Long Bar" Schindler MT

This version of MT is a more rare and slightly different version of MT. The overall design is the same, but these buttons have a longer light bar and an all out different circuit board. This video shows the differences of "long bar" to the regular MT buttons and shows you how to wire it.

Wiring Information

Wiring MT is very easy. The circuit board consists of a connector with 5 ports. The function of the ports vary slightly between the two types, though it doesn't affect the wiring at all!

The inputs for both types of MT. Both are very similar, but you may notice the N/O and LED - are flipped. This should not affect your wiring.

These buttons can be wired in a couple of different ways. My schematic shows a way to wire these buttons regardless of what kind of board you may have. The schematic shown causes the light bar to illuminate when the button is pressed. The "9v to next button" is used when you have more than one button you wish to wire up.

Long Bar vs Regular

Below are pictures of both types of MT for visual comparison.
